A2O LITE didn’t wait long for a No. 1. A day after the group’s official debut, its first single, ‘NEON’, topped Melon’s Top 100 at 11 PM KST on October 14.
Who they are
A2O LITE is a nine-member girl group from A2O Entertainment, the new agency led by SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man. The members are Young, Oa, Ayune, Aijing, Himeki, Rada, Xili, Vora and Merci, and they come from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand and the United States.
Debut week
The ‘NEON’ video went up first, on the evening of October 12 KST. The single followed on October 13 at 6 PM KST, the same day A2O’s 15-member boy group, A2O SOUL, released its pre-release single ‘SUPERSTAR’.
The agency calls the group’s sound “Zalpha Pop”. On ‘NEON’, that means a heavy bass line, with the hook “Neon and beyond” repeating all the way through.
