ALPHA DRIVE ONE’s agency WAKEONE has responded after member Geonwoo took legal action over his contract.

Geonwoo, who has been on hiatus since April, filed a lawsuit asking for a ruling on whether his exclusive contract is valid and on his status as an artist under it. WAKEONE first said it couldn’t comment on details while proceedings are ongoing, then put out a longer statement later the same day.

In it, the agency apologized to fans for the worry and said differences of opinion came up while it was planning Geonwoo’s future activities, which led to the legal process. It said it will handle the matter through established procedures and asked fans not to spread unverified information.

WAKEONE added that ALPHA DRIVE ONE will carry on with their schedule as a seven-member group, and that it will keep talking with Geonwoo about his future in the industry.

First, we sincerely apologize to the fans who cherish and support ALPHA DRIVE ONE for causing concern with the recent matter.

We have prepared various plans, including specific schedules and content, regarding the direction of Kim Geonwoo’s future activities, and have continued our discussions. However, while coordinating the direction of his future activities, differences arose between our respective positions, and the situation has reached the point where legal proceedings are underway. We feel regretful and apologetic for causing fans worry and fatigue in this process, and we will respond faithfully to the matter in accordance with established procedures.

In addition, because speculative content or inaccurate information spreading while the relevant facts have not been sufficiently confirmed can cause unnecessary misunderstanding and hurt to both the artist and the fans, we respectfully ask that you refrain from indiscriminately spreading unconfirmed content.

Meanwhile, ALPHA DRIVE ONE’s activities will continue as planned. We will support the seven currently active members so that they can focus on their music and stages in a stable environment, and we will do our best to ensure that scheduled activities also continue without disruption.
