Another first for BTS! Their fifth studio album ‘ARIRANG’ has been certified Platinum by FIMI, Italy’s music industry association, making BTS the first K-pop artist to earn a Platinum certification there, according to Star News.
Platinum in Italy means 50,000 units, counting physical sales, downloads and streaming together. ‘ARIRANG’ got there about six months after going Gold in April.
The album is still holding steady in the U.S., too. Star News reports it sat at No. 57 on the Billboard 200 for the week of November 7, its 32nd week in a row on the chart since it came out in March, and at No. 25 on Top Album Sales. Title track ‘SWIM’ placed No. 33 on the Global 200 and No. 13 on Global (Excl. US).
Next up for the tour: the Southeast Asia leg of ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG’, with 15 shows in five cities. It starts in Kaohsiung in November, then heads to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta in December.
