CL might have a new home soon. On October 28, THEBLACKLABEL confirmed that it’s in talks with the 2NE1 leader about an exclusive contract. Nothing has been signed yet, so for now this is a “watch this space” moment rather than a done deal.

Why fans are paying attention
CL debuted with 2NE1 under YG Entertainment in 2009. She left YG in 2019 and set up her own agency, Very Cherry, to keep making music on her own terms.
THEBLACKLABEL is led by producer Teddy, who worked closely with CL on 2NE1’s music back in their YG days, so a deal would bring the two back under one roof. The label’s roster already includes fellow YG alumni Taeyang of BIGBANG and Rosé of BLACKPINK, along with Jeon Somi, MEOVV and ALLDAY PROJECT.
