Good news, EXO-L: the ‘94z’ are officially teaming up. Kai and Sehun will debut as a brand-new EXO unit this December, and SM Entertainment has confirmed it.
The news first came from a Newsen report on November 2, Korea time, and SM followed with a short statement:
“Kai and Sehun will release their first mini album this December as a new unit of EXO. We ask for your continued interest and anticipation.”

That’s all SM has shared for now. There’s no release date, album title or unit name yet, so keep an eye out for teasers.
Both born in 1994, Kai and Sehun have shown off their chemistry plenty of times already. Sehun dropped in as a surprise guest at Kai’s solo concert last year, and the pair reunited in January on ‘Jeongwating,’ the spin-off of Kai’s web variety show ‘Jeongwaja.’ You’ll also see them side by side soon as travel partners on ENA’s ‘World Dice Tour 4.’
