Netflix is getting into the idol-making business. The streamer announced on Wednesday, October 21 KST, that it’s launching ‘We Go High’, an audition show where students at arts high schools compete for a spot in a new K-pop girl group.
Applications opened the same day. Female first- and second-year students at arts high schools, or at high schools with broadcasting-related programs, can apply, and so can students set to enroll at those schools in 2027.
The show is led by producers Park Jin-kyung, who worked on Netflix’s ‘Zombieverse’, and Lee Jae-seok, who worked on ‘The Influencer’. Netflix has also signed a memorandum of understanding with SM C&C to keep supporting the group after it debuts, including developing the group and helping its members grow globally.
